This session will outline the Alliance’s top legislative and regulatory goals—covering new proposed legislation moving through Congress, appropriations objectives, and engagement with federal agencies. Panelists will explain how the shifting federal landscape, across both the Administration and Congress, could affect charter school students and families. They will discuss the Alliance’s advocacy strategy and highlight opportunities for stakeholders from across the charter community to engage policymakers on behalf of their schools.

Senior Director of Policy
National Alliance
Katherine (Katie) Burke is the senior director of policy with the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools. Prior to joining the National Alliance, Katie spent over eight years at the DC Public Charter School Board (DC PCSB), the District’s charter school authorizer. Katie earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from Boston University, specializing in Social Studies Education, and she graduated magna cum laude from Colby College.
