Turning the Tassel: Early Life Outcomes for Charter School Grads are Better

Turning the Tassel: Early Life Outcomes for Charter School Grads are Better

,
Meeting Room 228-229

If schools have done a good job, the proof should lie in whether young adults are thriving within the first 10 years of graduating high school. A recent national survey of 5,000 public high school alumni who graduated between 2015 and 2025 revealed significantly better life outcomes for charter school alumni. On average, charter school graduates are more likely than their district peers to enroll in postsecondary education, complete college degrees, earn higher salaries, own homes, and be employed full time. They are also more likely to have attended a school where teachers and leaders encouraged them to break barriers and defy expectations. Join this session to fully unpack the data from this ground-breaking report that provides solid evidence that charter schools are preparing students for excellent life outcomes. These stats should be used by every charter school advocate.
