Marc Wancer
Investment Principal
Equitable Facilities Fund
Marc Wancer is a founding member of the Equitable Facilities Fund (EFF), where he leads the underwriting team in supporting high-quality public charter schools nationwide. In this role, he oversees the evaluation and guidance of schools through EFF’s affordable, mission-driven lending process—ensuring that facilities financing is never a barrier to student success. With over 25 years of experience in impact investing and nonprofit leadership, Marc brings deep insight into the challenges and opportunities facing education-focused organizations. His career began in commercial banking, but he quickly pivoted to mission-focused lending, driven by a passion for expanding access to opportunity in underserved communities. Before leading underwriting, he co-directed EFF’s lending and business development initiatives, helping expand access to low-cost capital for schools serving historically underserved communities. Prio to EFF, Marc was a Senior Executive and Analyst at Aeris, where he conducted in-depth financial and operational assessments of more than 70 Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) across the country. His earlier career included managing development finance initiatives in Southeast Asia and spearheading lending and program work at both NFF (Nonprofit Finance Fund) and Hope Enterprise Corporation. Marc holds a B.A. in Central European and Russian History from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. in International Politics and Economic Development from Fordham University.
