Code of Conduct
The National Charter Schools Conference (NCSC) by the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and volunteers. To ensure this, we have implemented a Code of Conduct for everyone participating in our event both in-person and virtual spaces related to the conference. We expect everyone to cooperate in upholding this code and will actively enforce it throughout the event.
To maintain an environment for productive and engaging conversations and experiences, all participants must communicate professionally and constructively in person and online, including addressing disagreements courteously and sharing information responsibly while distinguishing between opinion and fact. Harassment, discrimination, and disrespectful behavior, including offensive comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, race, ethnicity, religion, or any group identity, are strictly prohibited. Inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual attention, stalking, intimidation, and the use of sexual language, imagery, or any sexualized content in conference spaces is strictly prohibited. Violators of this Code of Conduct may face actions deemed appropriate by conference organizers, including but not limited to warnings, expulsion from the event without a refund, and a ban from future events.
Age Restrictions
All attendees under 18 must be registered, paying participants, and accompanied by a registered adult chaperone to attend conference sessions and activities. Individuals under 18 are strictly prohibited from entering the exhibit hall during setup and breakdown times for safety and liability reasons. Registered attendees aged 14 to 17 may enter the exhibit hall only if accompanied by a registered adult chaperone during show dates. Children 13 and under are not permitted in the exhibit hall at any time. We will enforce this policy without exception to ensure a safe environment for all participants. We reserve the right to refuse access to sessions and events for participants under 18, as necessary. Participants under 18 are not permitted to attend events where alcohol is served, including the exhibit hall happy hour.
Media and Information Capture
The National Charter Schools Conference, by the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, exclusively holds the rights to record, stream, and host all event content in person and virtually. Recording or streaming sessions outside NCSC’s official virtual platform is strictly prohibited.
Presenters may share media and resources during their sessions or session recordings. These materials are provided for attendees' personal use only and may not be distributed unless explicitly stated or with written permission from the presenter.
Information Sharing and Data Use
The National Charter Schools Conference provides an interactive experience tailored to participants based on the information and preferences shared during registration and at the event. NCSC collects user behaviors for purposes like gamification, capacity management, and analytics.
Participants control their contact information sharing with other attendees, presenters, and vendors. Contact information may be shared with exhibitors and sponsors only if participants opt to engage in sponsored sessions, booth demonstrations, raffles, offers, or games.
Photo and Video Consent
By registering and attending the National Charter Schools Conference, you agree to allow NCSC to take photographs, record audio, and/or visually record your image, name, or voice. NCSC may use these recordings and photographs for promotional or advertising purposes without any restrictions on the media used for distribution.
Health and Safety Guidelines
We coordinate closely with our host city and venue to monitor any health or safety matters that could affect the National Charter Schools Conference and its attendees. While no specific health or safety concerns are currently anticipated for NCSC25, we may implement additional policies if circumstances change. Attendance guidelines will reflect the well-being of the NCSC community and comply with federal, state, and local guidance.
We encourage attendees to get tested for COVID-19 before the event. Attendees should stay home if they have tested positive for COVID-19, have COVID-19 symptoms, or have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for or has symptoms of COVID-19.
