Schools With New Blueprints for Career and Life Readiness
,
BCEC, Meeting Room 151AB
The purpose of an excellent K-12 education is to help young people realize their full potential and have a meaningful life full of choice. Key to this vision is ensuring that students graduate high school with clear college and career plans. NewSchools, as a leading funder of new, innovative charter schools, has been inspired by a significant increase in secondary schools focused on pathways to college and career success. In this session, you will learn about the most impactful schools from the NewSchools portfolio that are embedding early college and career exposure, work-based learning, and learn-and-earn approaches to fast-track students into choice-filled lives. We will also discuss necessary conditions for strong partnership between schools, institutes of higher education, workforce development agencies, and employers. Join Managing Partner Mia Howard and Senior Associate Partner Andrew Vega, from NewSchools Venture Fund to learn more.
