Join Tonya Kelly, a fourth-grade teacher at Horizon Science Academy Elementary in Columbus, Ohio, and National Alliance 2022 Changemaker for a homeroom dedicated to new teachers and the technique of creating E.P.I.C kids in your classroom.

The attendees will learn three methods to ensure teachers can plan and frame curriculum by providing tools that give students options, voice, and choice in order to enable them to be creative.
The attendees will learn how to connect community into the classroom to foster valuable skills, community lessons, engaging activities by using real-world practices to serve and inspire students to feel like they belong.
The attendees will build a teacher toolkit filled with helpful classroom activities, digital websites to use in the classroom, classroom behavior strategies, and essential tips to build confidence that will ensure teachers are prepared for their teaching journey.

Tonya Kelly, M.Ed is a Fourth-grade educator at a Horizon Science Academy Elementary Columbus, OH. Tonya is the Founder of Empower Our Youth Foundation. The non-profit organization brings awareness and advocacy to all forms of bullying happening in our schools and communities. Tonya’s motto is “To empower/inspire youth and families to be a Voice against bullying”. She is also a “Teacher In The Community” who passion and purpose is working to inform and educate people about distance learning and educational resources needed to prepare families and students for learning during this unprecedented pandemic.
